Adanta completed an Environmental Assessment and biological surveys for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) through the 2019-2024 IDIQ to analyze the environmental impacts of implementing a Wildland Fire Management Plan (WFMP). The WFMP would result in fuel breaks in the form of green and brown stripping to reduce the spread of flammable vegetation, such as nonnative cheatgrass, from radiating outside the bombing ranges to public and private lands. Adanta modified biological survey protocols to complete a total of 12 avian, herpetological, and mammal baseline surveys in high-priority wildfire risk areas previously not surveyed. The surveys resulted in more than 800 spatially referenced data points and more than 1,500 wildlife and habitat photographs. Camera traps were placed near guzzlers to remotely capture additional wildlife photos.
