Occupational Safety Program for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Adanta, Inc. is proud to have been awarded a contract to provide Occupational Safety Program Support Services to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). With the contract number 80GSFC19C0045, awarded on 1st August 2019, the project entails one base year and four option years, amounting to a total contract value of $591,216. The contract is structured as a firm fixed price agreement.

The primary objective of this project is to provide comprehensive occupational safety and engineering services to NASA GSFC’s Greenbelt Occupational Safety and Health Division. Adanta will work diligently to ensure that the GSFC/Greenbelt campus remains fully compliant with all necessary NASA, federal, state, and local safety standards.

In addition to the GSFC/Greenbelt campus, Adanta will extend its services to conduct facility inspection support at several satellite GSFC sites. These include the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, the Independent Validation & Verification Facility in West Virginia, and the White Sands Complex (WSC) in New Mexico.

The scope of services provided by Adanta encompasses the protection of approximately 10,000 NASA civil service and contractor personnel. These individuals are located within 38 major facilities, covering a vast area of over 3.4 million square feet, comprising office spaces, industrial areas, and laboratories.

The dedicated team from Adanta, including employees Bryan Morris and Art Gavin, is committed to ensuring the highest levels of safety for all personnel at GSFC. Their expertise will be utilized in various areas, including safety program analysis, regulatory review and assessment, development of policies, procedures, plans, and work instructions, as well as conducting facility drawing and engineering design reviews at different stages of completion (30%, 60%, 90%, and 100%).

Moreover, Adanta will conduct thorough facility inspections at the satellite GSFC sites mentioned earlier, along with building and laboratory surveys. The team will also oversee construction safety, acceptance testing, and operational readiness. Safety training and education programs will be developed and delivered to further enhance safety awareness and knowledge among personnel.

Adanta will provide interim response assistance as needed, along with the development of facility safety management plans and conducting focused risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate associated risks.

Through this contract, Adanta aims to support NASA GSFC in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for its workforce. The team is dedicated to delivering excellence and upholding the highest standards of occupational safety throughout the duration of the project.
