In accordance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 requirement to perform assessments, evaluations, data analysis, and prioritization of potentially contaminated sites in the US, Adanta was contracted to conduct field oversight and quality control sampling during ongoing remediation activities at the former Hunter’s Point Naval Shipyard. Adanta filled this role from April 2020 through December 2022. Duties included daily monitoring of ongoing remediation efforts on site; conducting quality control soil split sampling and shipping collected samples to qualified analytical laboratories; authoring daily, weekly and monthly reports of site activities and remediation progress; authoring and adhering to activity specific to Health and Safety Plan and Quality Assurance Project Plan; and conducting daily inspections of environmental monitoring equipment within and surrounding the project site. Specialized field equipment used in the conduction of these duties included a handheld GPS unit and a beta/gamma rad meter.
