Deactivation and Decommissioning Support at Los Alamos National Laboratory

Adanta was under contract with LATA to aid in the Deactivation and Decommissioning (D&D) procedures at Technical Area 21 (TA-21) located at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The work scope for Adanta encompassed waste removal and disposal, which included the elimination of asbestos, hazardous materials, oil, sludges, liquids, and other materials from the site.

We removed, reduced the size of, and packaged contaminated items from specific areas of the TA-21 site that were accessible. This project also entailed the demolition of over 5,900 linear feet of industrial waste pipelines, three manhole structures, two underground storage tanks, one leach field structure, and one grit chamber structure.

Upon completion of these tasks, Adanta then proceeded to backfill all the excavations, depressions, and void spaces. We ensured that these matched the existing contour, strictly adhering to pre-approved planning documents and plans.
